It’s been a long year. And I don’t mean that negatively. It was just one where many things happened, lots of work, and plenty of new experiences. So, let’s dive into the highlights of the past year.
Summing up all the details would be crazy. I’m not gonna write all those down here, and I’m sure you wouldn’t read them all anyway. And even though I do these diaries primarily for myself, it’s nice to know they’re being read.

Street Photography Highlights of 2024
My work has made a big leap forward this year. Output, quality, vision, and motivation have increased significantly. The primary motivator came around April. Roy from Captured and Published asked me to contribute to the photobook about Antwerp.
Getting such recognition for my work motivated me to take more street photos and invest more time in them.
Next, I attended a two-day workshop on street photography with Selaru Ovidiu in Brussels. Learning how he takes photos and navigates the streets helped me develop my vision and routines.
Next, I met up with several fellow photographers through the book and the street photography podcast I started in August of this year.

Corporate Photography Highlights of 2024
Of course, I can’t forget about my corporate photography, too. It’s my primary income and activity. 2024 started with buying a Nikon Z8 at the start of the year—a great addition to the photo bag for corporate events and portraits.
Soon followed by my first event shooting with only mirrorless cameras (Z8 and Z7II). And also plenty of events for big corporations and government departments. Over 85 assignments for a variety of clients.
In between, I also managed to host a portrait shoot for my friends in a studio. Testing out new gear and lighting patterns.

Exciting firsts and milestones
Most of the time, the firsts are the most exciting parts of a month or year. So, let’s dive into those for a second here, as some are very memorable for me.

- … got my Nikon Z8 and started shooting with it
- … bought a 24-70mm f2.8 lens and loved it (I have no idea how I lived without it)
- … started my street photography podcast, Slices of Time
- … was part of the Captured: Antwerp photobook
- … walked 77 kilometers in two days along the Belgian Coast
- … visited Nice, Monaco, and Aalst for the first time
- … visited Rome, Rotterdam, and Liege for the umpteenth time
