Popular Bluesky Hashtags for Street Photography

Bluesky is one of the platforms that is still relatively unknown but is growing with every passing week. At the time of writing, it has about 37.8 million users. And the growth isn’t stopping.

So, being on Bluesky can help any street photographer build a community and get views on their street photos.

A quick intro to Bluesky

At heart, Bluesky is a decentralized social media platform. Though the benefits are limited for now, it should allow users to keep complete control over their content in the long term.

Initially, your account might seem empty, but you can easily follow users by finding them via usernames and hashtags or using the starter packs, specially curated lists of profiles on a specific topic.

Oh, and a post on Bluesky is called a skeet

Using hashtags on Bluesky

Using hashtags on Bluesky is fairly similar to using them on all other platforms. You put them in your post (I just don’t think skeet is a good name), and it will be added to the list of posts for that hashtag.

People searching the hashtags can then choose to see all posts in two feeds. Either Top or Latest. The names are self-explanatory.

You can add a hashtag to your post by just writing it down. To look up a hashtag on Bluesky, click one in a post or type it in the search bar.

Click on a relevant hashtag and browse the several posts you can find. Then, start following or engaging with like-minded photographers.

Posting and engaging on the hashtags are an excellent way to grow your community.
