Photo Diary March 2025: Lots of portrait sessions, events, and fun street photo moments

If I look back at the events of March, the month seems both long and short. Some events seem ages ago, while others feel like they only happened yesterday.

I started the month by attending a Nikon Z8 autofocus system workshop. I learned more about autofocussing and some tremendous extra tricks and hacks for my camera—Shoutout to Gregory van Toor for those brilliant insights.

Later, I met up with Tom Uyterspot for coffee and a chat about (our) street photography. It was a fun and casual conversation, something I should do more often.

Of course, there was also work to be done—plenty of it. I went to Paintfactory in Bruges and Premium Sound Solutions in Dendermonde to give them smartphone photography workshops.

For several companies needing portraits and group shots of their employees, I went all over Belgium: Leuven, Liege, Waterloo, and Knokke. In a funny twist of events, all events I did this month were in a radius of 500 meters in Brussels.

There was also a recording with Nina Welch-Kling for the podcast. Though the episode will only be published in May, it’s something to look forward to. Speaking of the podcast, I also reached over 1000 plays on Spotify this month. Hooray!

Apart from working and doing workshops, I also walked and took street photographs in Brussels, Antwerp, and Leuven, just casually or around the Rambiz Crane, for Scaldis’s 30th anniversary.

Some firsts, extraordinary events, and some exciting moments from March 2025

  1. I’m slowly getting into photography for better travel pics. Attending one of the workshops sounds amazing. I’m hoping to have a lovely recap like this soon. Also, congrats on the podcast milestone!

  2. Thanks to the author for the inspiring share. I liked the variety of his activities and his balance between work and creativity, which reflects a genuine passion for photography.
