After all the reviews about the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, there is only one question unanswered. What about the RAWs? Are they still there? Where can I download some to check them out myself? Well, in this blog I am talking all about the RAW functionalities on the Mate 20 pro and giving you some of my RAWs to download.
Don’t care about the information? You can download via the form at the end of this blog post.
Which lenses on the Mate 20 Pro support RAW?
I’m so excited about this one. On the previous models and even the Huawei P20 Pro, only the main lens support dng (digital negatives or RAW). Luckily the Huawei Mate 20 Pro supports RAW on all three back-sensors. Let’s get into it.
So as discussed in my Mate 20 Pro review, there are 3 lenses on the backside of the smartphone. A regular 40 megapixels one, a 3x telephoto with 8 megapixels, and an Ultra-wide sensor with 20 megapixels. Don’t let the megapixels fool you. The telephoto still creates powerful images.
A little bit more about the files you get from the Mate 20 Pro camera. I’m talking resolutions and file-sizes.
Main – 40MP
7280 x 5456 pixels
Telephoto – 8MP
3248 x 2432 pixels
Ultra-wide – 20MP
5104 x 3824 pixels
Please note that the file-size can vary depending on the brightness of your shot. Photos with more white are typically bigger than photos with more blacks. The resolution, however, stays unchanged.
So with all this information, I can imagine you want to download the RAW-files for yourself. I did my best to create a mix of photography genres with different lenses. Hope you enjoy playing around with them!
